1970 Frank Howard Game Worn Uniform
The Capital Punisher's best season of his career. He led the league this year in homers (44), runs batted in (126) and walks (132) as the sole shining star of a team perpetually buried at the bottom of the heap. Sumptuous white home jersey announces "Senators" across the chest, with Howard's number "33" on verso. Simple "1970" stitched in blue in tail. "Wilson" tagging in collar has handwritten size "52." Remember, Howard tipped the scales at 255 pounds on a six-foot seven inch frame. Matching pants have "Wilson" tagging with handwritten sizes as well, and "33 - 1970 - 34 1/2" - 39W" stitched in blue thread in waistband. We've even got his red wool stirrups! All pieces show strong wear, especially the pants, which have a huge team repair obviously necessitated by a hard slide. Senators stuff is tough, and this is the best of the bunch.
