1970 Jim Morrison Signed "Doors" Check (PSA)

1970 Jim Morrison Signed "Doors" Check (PSA)

Rare check, dated June 5, 1970, endorsed by Jim Morrison (1943-1971), iconic lead singer of The Doors. PSA has encapsulated the check and certified the Morrison signature as "Authentic." The check, which is a "Doors Productions Corp." business check, is made out to "Jim Morrison" in the amount of $90.00 and signed by "Robert L. Green." It has been endorsed by "J. Morrison" on the reverse in blue ink, with the signature grading 8/10. A second endorsement (illegible) appears below Morrison's signature. Because of his tragic death in 1971 at the age of twenty-seven, Morrison's signature is exceedingly rare. Today, the few authentic examples circulating in the hobby are mostly on checks such as this or legal documents. The check (8.25x3"), which has normal bank cancellation stamps and holes, displays an abrasion in the lower left corner (small amount of surface paper loss) and a piece of clear tape (with paper remnants) near the right border. Both flaws are a result of the check having once been mounted within a framed display. The reverse, which features the Morrison signature, is free of any significant flaws and is Excellent to Mint in its overall appearance.
