1970 New England Patriots Shaeafer Stadium Ground Breaking Shovel
This historic presentational shovel was used during the ground breaking ceremonies for Schaefer Stadium, the former home of the New England Patriots, on Sept. 16, 1970 (Foxborough, MA). The first game at Schaefer Stadium was held on August 15, 1971 while the final game at this venue (The "Tuck Rule" Game) was held on January 19, 2002. The shovel recognizes Robert Watts and his participation in the ceremony. The stainless steel shovel with a red wooden handle is 38" long and is in EX condition.
