1970 Paul Doyle California Angels Game Worn Jersey

1970 Paul Doyle California Angels Game Worn Jersey

<p>Offered is a Paul Doyle flannel 1970 California Angels home jersey. Doyle was a left-handed relief pitcher who pitched in 87 games over three MLB seasons for the Atlanta Braves, the California Angels, and the San Diego Padres. He had a lifetime 5-3 record with a 3.79 ERA. Bothered by arm problems, he retired following the 1972 season. In 1970, he pitched for the Angels, with a 3-1 record, until he was sold on August 16th to the San Diego Padres. The short-sleeved jersey is white, with red and black trim and silver buttons. A "Spalding" tag, with a few loose threads, is on the collar. On the lower left outside tail "Doyle 42" is beautifully sewn in scripted green thread. Also on the lower left outside tail is a tag with washing instructions and a small tag reading "42" for his number. "Angels" in red letters with black trim is written across the chest. The number "48" in large cloth red numerals with black trim, is on the back. The Angels team logo is on the bottom of the left sleeve. The jersey is all original except for where "Doyle" was sewn on the back, and one can clearly see that it has been removed. It remains a beautiful jersey.</p>
