1970 Pete Rose World Series Game 4 Game Used Bat - HR Game (Photo-Matched)

1970 Pete Rose World Series Game 4 Game Used Bat - HR Game (Photo-Matched)

This bat was made by Hillerich and Bradsby specifically for use by Peter Rose in the 1970 World Series, the first of Charlie Hustle's career. A Model S222, it measures 36" and weighs 33.4 ounces, and on the barrel is "1970 WORLD SERIES Pete Rose CINCINNATI REDS." It shows heavy use with pine tar on the handle and lots of ball and seam marks on the barrel, along with rack marks and some cleat marks. There's slight grain separation on the back of the barrel, the bat is uncracked and has a very faint "14" in red on the knob. Rose was a key cog in the Big Red Machine as the 1970 Series was the first of four over a seven-year span in Cincinnati, with the Reds winning in both 1975 and '76. Rose proceeded to play two more Fall Classics while with the Philadelphia Phillies. This bat has also been photo-matched to game 4 of the 1970 World Series, the game in which Rose hit his sole HR of the Series.
