Two original wax boxes of 1970 Topps "Man on the Moon" non-sport cards, one including 24 packs of ten cards while the second box contains 18 packs. These display boxes feature a colorful illustration of two astronauts exploring the surface of the moon with Earth visible in the background, with the set title boldly printed in yellow. A sticker on the top panel, which reads "Real Photos Of Men On The Moon!" indicates this box is from the second issue of this popular set, distributed in 1970, after the successful moon landing was completed. The set features the original fifty-five cards from the 1969 issue as well as an additional forty-four new cards. While these pair of boxes are all original, all of the individual wax packs are completely unsealed. This is not the result of any nefarious shenanigans, but a lack of proper seals being completed at the factory. It's just not practical to attempt to corner the Neil Armstrong or Hubert Humphrey rookie card market. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Mint or Gem Mint examples. The wax packs are mostly in Near Mint condition, with the eye appealing light blue packs all mostly untouched.
Addendum: This lot title was incorrectly described as 1969 when in fact the sticker on box indicates it is a 1970 box.
