1970 Tug McGraw Signed Game Worn Mets Jersey (Photo-Matched)
Famous for leading the 1973 New York Mets to their "Ya Gotta Believe" season where they ended up most improbably in the World Series versus the Mighty Athletics of Oakland. Eventually they were denied the gold, but along the way they did it with a style and enthusiasm best expressed by the machinations of their inspiring key reliever, Mr. Tug McGraw. This is the rarest of the rare, an actual Tug McGraw home white pinstriped flannel. Exceptional specimen in beautiful condition, proudly displaying "Mets" across the front in two-color cursive font with Tug's sizzling number. Tagging includes the classic "Spalding" with washing instructions and "Set 1 #8P 1970" tags. The signature of the dear departed immortal is in the tail in 10/10 condition. Yes, the signature of this fallen leader is simply perfect. Swatch in the interior collar features "40 70 45," referring to size, year and player number. Classic Mets team logo skyline patch is present and the jersey is all original with no restoration and excellent use. Stunning button-up is originally from the discriminating collection of pioneering game used collector Delbert Mickel. LOA from PSA/DNA.
