1970 Wayne Simpson Cincinnati Reds Game Worn Jersey
1970 Wayne Simpson Cincinnati Reds game worn jersey comes from the hard-thrower's lone All-Star season. Jersey has had numbers restored on back and front, and there is a clear outline of "11" shown on front and back, with an outline of "I" shown where the individual red letters are sewn to the jersey above the rear number. Simpson showed great promise in his rookie season in Cincy, winning 13 of his first 14 decisions including three games in which he allowed three hits or less; he was the only rookie pitcher named to the NL All-Star squad, though he did not appear in the game. Unfortunately, a rotator cuff injury that season derailed his great success, and while the Reds won the National League Championship, he did not pitch in the post-season. After Simpson wore this jersey in 1970, it was stripped and became an Old Timer's jersey for Roy McMillan.
