1970 Willie Mays Sporting News Original Art
Fabulous original oil-on-canvas was used as the cover for the July 1970 issue of the Sporting News. From the studio of former NFL flanker Tommy McDonald, it is a superior portrait of Giants great Willie Mays. The framed piece measures 19" x 23" and comes with the actual cover of the Sporting News it was used to create. Nice early signature of the 24-time All-Star and two-time MVP. It's part of a framed plaque that measures roughly 14.5" x 22.5" and includes reproductions of three Mays baseball cards at the bottom. Full color Sporting News original art is quite rare.
