1970/71 Topps Basketball 1st Series Wax Box - BBCE Sealed
Offered is an extremely rare 1970-71 Topps Basketball 1st Series unopened wax box, with each of the 24 packs containing 10 cards, a "GIANT Action Poster" poster, and, of course, the ubiquitous stick of gum. The 1st Series includes almost all the key cards to the set, with Bill Bradley, John Havlicek, Pat Riley RC, Earl Monroe, Jerry Lucas, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Elvin Hayes, Wes Unseld, Lew Alcindor (2nd card), Oscar Robertson, League Leader cards, All Star cards and a few other stars and HOFers. Quite an impressive array of hoops talent! The 1970 Topps Basketball issue was only the third major Topps basketball release since 1957, and unopened material from this series is very rare. Topps just did not produce anywhere near the same quantity of basketball cards as they did baseball or even football. While we have seen individual 1970 Topps basketball packs offered and sold here and there, a full box of these first series gems is an extremely rare and desirable box.
