1971 Bobby Murcer New York Yankees Game-Worn Jersey
1971 was the year Bobby Murcer came into his own, batting .331 with 25 home runs and 94 RBI while pacing the American League with a .427 on-base percentage. During that breakout season, the left-handed hitting outfielder wore this Yankees road jersey. The "New York" across the front was taken off when it was sent to the minors and then restored by a collector at a later date. The number 1 on the back is original but been tacked down at several spots over the years. "Murcer 40" is sewn in the collar along with "Fiscal" written in marker... likely the name of the minor leaguer who wore it after Murcer. There's also a "71" and Spalding tag on the front tail. Shows lots of use.
