1971 Gene Brabender Game Worn Angels Flannel Jersey
Pitcher Gene Brabender was 25 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 11, 1966, with the Baltimore Orioles. He made stops with the Seattle Pilots and Milwaukee Brewers in the next few seasons. This unusual white jersey with red and blue trim is from 1971. It’s unusual because he did not play major league ball in 1971. The jersey was worn during spring training when he was trying to catch on with the California Angels. He failed to make it back to the majors. Jersey has “angels” across the front with a halo above the “a.” Below it, his number “48.” Bottom left has “Brabender” stitched in with “44...71” (size and year) stitched in below it. Patch with cleaning instructions below that. Collar has “Rawlings 44” tag. Left sleeve has Angels patch. Reverse has “Brabender” above his number “48.” Shows use, but retains a killer look.
