1971 Joe Torre 199th Home Run Baseball
What a year for the future World Champion Yankee manager! He was two-thirds of the way to a Triple Crown, with 137 RBI's and a .363 average, but his twenty-four homers, of which this was one, fell short of the record. Vintage ink on the well-dirtied ONL (Feeney) ball reads, "8-16-71, HR #18, Life 199, Avg. .355." Other panel reads, "St. Louis Cardinals" above Torre's signature.
