1971 Leroy Stanton New York Mets Game Worn Jersey

1971 Leroy Stanton New York Mets Game Worn Jersey

Outfielder Leroy Stanton played nine major league seasons and 829 major league games, the first nine of which were with the New York Mets. He only appeared in one road game in 1971 - on September 23 at Wrigley Field, making this flannel road jersey a real rarity. It is in great condition and reads "NEW YORK" across the front in blue on orange tackle twill. The number "23" is splashed on the back in the same tackle twill colors, plus there's a "23-42-1971" strip tag in the collar, Wilson Size 42 tag on the front tail and Mets logo patch on the left sleeve. This all-original top comes from the final year the Mets wore flannel jerseys.
