1971 Topps Empty Wax Display Boxes (13)

An original owner collection of 1971 Topps wax pack EMPTY display boxes! This collection of 13 boxes derives from a long time dealer, who began selling baseball cards in the mid-to-late 1960s, and saved virtually everything. These boxes were opened by him back in 1971 when he would put together sets. (We did NOT inform him what those full boxes would be worth now.) There are seven boxes each for the first series, which has an "EXTRA! INSERT IN EACH PACK!" starburst display on the front panel, with the fourth series boxes containing an "EXTRA! REAL METAL BASEBALL COIN in each pack!" with an image of the Pete Rose coin. Each box does contain images of Johnny Bench, Boog Powell (reigning league MVPs) with Bob Gibson and Carl Yastrzemski. Most of the boxes grade EX to EX/MT (a few lesser) with a few having some intact perforations. Only one box has corner tears, but no boxes have any severe damage. Most of the boxes are as good as you would likely find today. This is a nice collection of intact empty display boxes.

Addendum: There are only 13 empty boxes
