1971 Woody Woodward Cincinnati Reds Game Worn Jersey

1971 Woody Woodward Cincinnati Reds Game Worn Jersey

1971 Woody Woodward game used jersey originates from the final year that the Cincinnati Reds wore flannel jerseys. White button-front top has Rawlings size 42 tagging inside front tail along with washing instructions and Set 1 1971 flag tag; numbers 42 and 71 are also embroidered in red on the bottom left front. In near-perfect condition, this home jersey is all original with Reds "C" logo patch on the left breast, number 6 sewn on back, and name arched in individually-stitched red letters above the number. Despite playing 880 games over seven full seasons and portions of two others, Woodward struck just one home run, prompting him to humorously quip on the occasion of that 1970 shot that, "If I hit one home run per every seven seasons, it will take me 4,998 seasons to catch Babe Ruth."
