1972 Ali vs. Patterson II Closed-Circuit Broadcast Full Ticket PSA NM-MT 8
Full ticket to the closed circuit broadcast of the 1972 rematch between Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson. Ticket measures 2x5" and is for Municipal Auditorium in Orlando, Florida, and presents extremely well, with sharp corners, bold yellow color remaining on the card stock, and all print sharp and clear. In the 1965 first meeting between the Champ (Ali) and former Champ (Patterson, who lost his title to Sonny Liston, who was in turn beaten by Ali), the man who would become known as The Greatest claimed victory in a decisive 12th round TKO. In the '72 rematch, held on September 20, a 37-year old Patterson proved little match, suffering a 7th round TKO after which he retired from ring competition. Originates from the extensive Muhammad Ali collection of Troy Kinunen. Encapsulated by PSA as FULL NM-MT 8, only 14 such examples submitted have earned this grade, with only three higher.
