1972 Brooks Robinson Baltimore Orioles Signed Game Worn Jersey (MEARS 10)
Spectacular 1992 Brooks Robinson signed Baltimore Orioles jersey. Road gray button front top marks the first year the Orioles wore doubleknit uniforms, has Spalding Professional, year 72, and size 40 tagging inside tail. Baltimore is in script across the chest above the slick fielding third baseman's number 5 on left side, in orange-on-black tackle twill. Name stitched directly to jersey in same-style arched lettering above number on back. The Hall of Famer signed in black marker on the front tail; nice use is displayed with some minor stains and a thread pull at the front of the collar. Still considered by many to be the best fielder to ever patrol the "hot corner," Brooks won an astounding 16 Gold Glove awards in his 20 full MLB seasons, all spent in Baltimore. Robinson accounted for career highs of 28 homers and an AL-leading 118 RBI in his 1964 MVP season, was the Most Valuable Player of the 1970 World Series, and earned 18 All-Star Game nods in his majestic career. Graded 10 by MEARS, this jersey stands as a perfect tribute to one of the sport's best glovemen in its venerable history.
