1972 Franco Harris "Immaculate Reception" Game Ticket

1972 Franco Harris "Immaculate Reception" Game Ticket

One small stub from one legendary game in this Pittsburgh Steelers' home ticket stub from the 1972 AFC Championship Game against the Oakland Raiders. With just 22 seconds left and facing 4th-and-10 at their own 40 yard line, the hosts were in dire straits, trailing by a 7-6 count. Terry Bradshaw kept the play alive by scrambling and made a desperation throw downfield toward running back John "Frenchy" Fuqua, who collided with Raiders' safety Jack Tatum. Accounts still differ as to whether the ball touched Tatem, or Fuqua; that was significant as the ensuing ricochet caromed right to Steelers star Franco Harris, who carried the ball to victory as chaos resulted (had the ball hit Fuqua, it would have been an illegal catch). This stub measures 1.5x3.25" with a neat tear and some overall wear, as we deem it to be in Very Good condition with some creasing.
