1972 Jack Lambert Mid American Conference Player of the Year Award
Original award presented to Jack Lambert in 1972 as the "Mid American Conference Player Player Of The Year." Just two years after the shooting of protesters gave Kent State University an unwelcome connection to that event - which stands to this day - Lambert led an upstart Golden Flashes team to the conference championship which remains the only one the school has earned. Bronze football on a dark plastic base stands 15" tall and features a brass plaque that reads, "Jack Lambert - Mid American Conference Player Of The Year - 1972." As legend has it, Lambert was "too small" for his first choice at Miami (Ohio), so he went to nearby Kent State, paving the road to becoming one of the great legends of the sport. Sources from Jack Lambert's personal collection. A few small cracks on the base noticed; EX Overall.
