1972 Jim Palmer Baltimore Orioles Game Worn Jersey - A-1 Specimen

1972 Jim Palmer Baltimore Orioles Game Worn Jersey - A-1 Specimen

Fresh to the market home jersey is all original and simply one of the nicest Jim Palmer jerseys we have ever seen. And when the discriminating Mike Heffner says that he means it. Handy button down front has "Orioles" in script across the chest in Baltimore orange on black. Sports the "22" also on the front (a superior style) and on the back "PALMER" is sewn directly onto the jersey with his "22" below. Inside the tail is the Rawlings size 42 tag with the "Set 1 1972" flag tag. This jersey shows really nice use which is the key to this stunning piece. Its the right kind of use. Not too heavy where it detracts, not too light where you wonder if he ever hit the field with it. It is that ultimate balance of NICE use and NICE condition. The jersey signed not once but twice on the front in 7/10 black marker. Once on the upper portion below the "Orioles" and once on the lower part of the front tail.Jim Palmer was a stud. More than just a ballplayer, he transcended the game with his TV spots and marketing yet he had the tools to back it up. The ace of the Orioles staffs of the 1960s and 1970s, he became the winningest pitcher of the 1970s (186 wins) which is quite an accomplishment considering such competition as Seaver, Ryan, Hunter, Jenkins and of course arch rival Steve Carlton. And Palmer he was a winner. He drove those Orioles teams to THREE World Champions. Just win baby. The best jersey of the best pitcher of one of the best decades in baseball history. I'll have that.
