1973-75 Hank Aaron Signed Game Issued Bat (PSA)

1973-75 Hank Aaron Signed Game Issued Bat (PSA)

Presented is a bat that can give a power surge to any collection - this Hank Aaron signed game issued A99 bat. When Aaron ordered this model Louisville Slugger bat from its Hillerich and Bradsby manufacturer - as he repeatedly did for much of his career - he always specified that this 35-inch, 33-ounce bat be made from "wide grain wood." Hank knew that the wide grains, caused from absorbed water, would make the bat strong. On April 18, 1974, when Aaron hit homer number 715 to break Babe Ruth's all-time record, Hank was swinging the A99. Then, on July 20, 1976, when Aaron hit homer number 755, his final blast, it was hit with the A99. Like most players, Hammerin' Hank varied his bats in his career, working in other models, but the A99 was his favorite. Aaron batted cross-handed as a youth and even for the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League. This cross-handed approach is often credited for his strong wrists. Although Aaron is technically no longer the all-time homer king, many fans disregard homers compiled during the "Steroid Era" and still regard Hank as the People's Champ. Hall of Famer Aaron passed away in January of 2021, and he is remembered as a complete player who, for a good part of his earlier career, hit for average (.305 lifetime) and was a superior right fielder. The bat is in pristine condition and shows no use. It has a narrow handle and is end weighted. The bat has "Genuine Henry Aaron Louisville Slugger" stamped under the barrel knob, and "Model A99" stamped into the bottom of the handle. The barrel exhibits a beautifully written, large black Sharpie vintage signature reading, "Best Wishes Hank Aaron." Aaron still holds MLB records for RBI (2,297) and total bases (6,856). "I never smile when I have a bat in my hands," said Hank. Here is an opportunity to possess, hold, and even take a few careful "air swings," with Hank Aaron's favorite model bat, the famous A99. Comes with PSA LOA.
