1973 Luis Aparicio Boston Red Sox Game Used Bat (PSA GU 8.5)

Luis Aparicio H&B pro-model ("F3") bat dating from the 1973 season. Graded GU 8.5 by PSA. The bat, which is not cracked, measures 35 inches in length and weighs 30.3 ounces. According to Aparicio's H&B factory shipping records, the only year in which he ordered 35-inch model F3 bats was 1973, which was his final season in the Major Leagues. The bat displays excellent use, including light checking (grain separation) and a small area of pine tar on the upper handle. Aparicio's uniform number ("11") is written on the knob in faded black marker. Although 1973 marked his eighteenth season in the Majors, Aparicio was still at the top of his game. "Little Louie" batted .271 with 0 home runs and 49 RBI, while providing his usual stellar defense at shortstop. One of the top fielders of his era, Aparicio won nine Gold Gold Awards and appeared in ten All-Star Games. He also helped lead the 1959 White Sox to the American League pennant and the Baltimore Orioles to a World Championship in 1966. Aparicio was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1984. LOA from PSA.
