1973 Roy White Game Worn New York Yankees Jersey
From 1973, when the Yankees not only didn’t make the post season but they finished with a losing record! Those were the lean years. White played 15 years for them and only went to the post season three times. Catastrophic by Yankees standards. “New York” on the front is all original as is the “White 73 Set 3” strip tag in the collar and Wilson size 42 tag in front tail. A “6” was originally on the back and the stitch outline can be seen. The “6” was changed to “17” by the team in 1974 and this shirt was worn by Gene Michael. The shirt may have also been worn by a third player as there is a name in marker in the collar under the strip tag. It appears to be “Heath.” It might be Mike Heath who played for the Yanks in 1978.
