1973 Sports Illustrated "Living Legends" Signed Lithographs Prints (JSA)
One of the greatest autograph offerings of sports memorabilia in history. These 21x25" highest quality lithographs were offered exclusively by Sports Illustrated from 1973-76. Entitled, "Living Legends," they depict the finest athletes in history that were living at the time of their production. This pioneering offering predates the advent of modern mass autograph signings and this is the creme de la creme cache of high quality authentic autographs in history. These eight include: Joe DiMaggio "The Yankee Clipper," Joe Louis/Max Schmeling "World Heavyweight Championship Prizefight," Jack Nicklaus "Masters PGA US Open British Open," Johnny Unitas "Mr. Quarterback," Arnold Palmer "PGA US Open British Open," Jack Dempsey/Gene Tunney "World Heavyweight Championship Prizefight," Stan Musial "Stan the Man Musial," and Eddie Arcaro "Triple Crown Winner." Most are from the same set and are numbered 874/1500. Only Nicklaus & Musial are different edition numbers. Each are in vintage 1970s frames and have some very slight water damage to the matting that does not affect the prints. Mattes could easily be changed. They are in otherwise Excellent condition.
