1973 Super Bowl VII Dolphins vs Redskins Full Ticket PSA EX-MT 6

1973 Super Bowl VII Dolphins vs Redskins Full Ticket PSA EX-MT 6

The 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only undefeated and untied team in the history of the NFL. When on Jan. 14, 1973, the Dolphins defeated the Washington Redskins 14-7 in Super Bowl VII at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Miami ended the season with a perfect record of 17-0. Exhibited is a full ticket from Super Bowl VII. The previous season, Miami, under head coach Tom Shula, had lost Super Bowl VI to the Dallas Cowboys. In training camp in 1972, Shula twice forced the Dolphins to watch the full film of the team's Super Bowl loss, mainly as a way to motivate the team to a Super Bowl victory to conclude the 1972 campaign. In Super Bowl VII, the Dolphins scored a first quarter touchdown on a 28-yard pass from quarterback Bob Griese to Howard Twilley and a second quarter score on a 1-yard run by Jim Kiick. Washington scored its only touchdown on a Mike Bass 49-yard fumble return. Jake Scott, a Dolphin safety was the Super Bowl VII MVP with two interceptions, one in the 4th quarter. The $15.00 full ticket measures approx. 2.6x6.4". The ticket exhibits a fascinating sign of the times in the almost psychedelic purple, black and green surrealistic football playing image the covers approximately half of the front of the ticket. The full ticket has been encapsulated and graded PSA EX-MT 6. This full ticket is a visually stunning remembrance of the Super Bowl that gave the Miami Dolphins undefeated team a unique place in the annals of the NFL.
