1974-75 Wardell Jackson Seattle Supersonics Game Worn Uniform - Rare Style
Displayed is a 1974-75 Wardell Jackson Seattle Supersonics game used uniform that Jackson wore during his only season in the NBA. He was a 6'7" small forward who played the 1975-76 season in the NBA with the Seattle Supersonics. He attended Ohio State University and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1974 NBA Draft. In the 1974-75 season, Jackson played in 56 games, averaging 4.3 PPG, with a TRB average of 4.2 and an AST average of 0.5. His highest scoring game was when he scored 23 points against the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 12, 1975. Seattle was coached in 1974-75 by Hall of Famer Bill Russell, the former great center and later player/coach of the Boston Celtics. The 1974-75 Seattle team finished the regular season at 43-39, finishing in second place in the Pacific Division and defeating the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs, and then being eliminated 4-2 in games in the Western Conference Semi-Finals to the Golden State Warriors. The jersey is gold in color, with green and white trim. SONICS, in green scripted letters with gold and white trim, is sewn on the top of the chest. The jersey number "30" is in green sewn on numerals with gold and white trim. On the lower left outside tail is a SAND-KNIT size 44 manufacturer's tag. Below that tag is a second SAND-KNIT tag, one that shows the jersey was designed and tailored for the Seattle Supersonics. The last name was removed from the top back of the jersey. The number 30, in green numerals with gold and white trim is sewn on the back of the jersey. The uniform comes with a matching pair of short pants, gold with green and white trim. In the rear waist of the shorts is a SAND-KNIT tag that shows the waist size as 44. One of the two ends of the drawstring in the waist has receded into the waist material and is not visible. The jersey and pants are in very good condition and show moderate wear, with a few loose strings. The Seattle Supersonics played in the NBA from 1967-68 through 2007-08, when they became the Oklahoma City Thunder, still playing under that name in Oklahoma. This rare jersey style of the Seattle Supersonics was only worn during 1974-75.
