1974 Ali vs. Foreman Zaire Site Poster (23x38”)
One of the most significant fights in boxing history, and certainly a performance which sealed Ali as the greatest that ever lived. Onsite poster is of the fabulous style used for the fight, known as the Rumble in the Jungle, Ocober 30, 1974. Artistic impression is the faces of Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, & President Mobutu against the continent of Africa (colored green). Background is solid yellow, reinforcing the uniformly African style and look to the artwork. Poster is headlined by the patriotic push: «Zaire 74 – Ali et Foreman Font Confiance a Mobutu” which translates to “Ali and Foreman Have Confidence in [President] Mobutu”. Underlined by the urging, “Vous Aussi Faite Comme Eux, Ayez Confiance en Mobutu” (in english, “You Should Also Have Conficence in Mobutu”). Kinshasa is marked by a dot on the African continent and “30 Octobre 1974”. One light horizontal crease and one vertical. A couple of tiny tears on the edges, but o/w EX.
