1974 Gary Carter Game Worn Rookie Jersey & Later Batting Helmet

1974 Gary Carter Game Worn Rookie Jersey & Later Batting Helmet

There's a hidden secret to this jersey that makes it so cool. Check the earliest rosters listing the potential Hall of Fame catcher and you'll note that he is listed as number "57." Later, of course, he changed to number "8." Hold this baby blue road jersey up to the light and you can see, very plainly, the outlines of number "57" where the stitching was removed on both the back and the smaller number on front. The number "8" currently resides there, as it has since that change was made. Fine use is evident, with obvious catcher's wear. "Wilson [size] 44" tag in collar, and "74 Set 2" stitched in tail. Blue sharpie signature, "Gary Carter, 'The Kid'" is NRMT. Later Expos batting helmet also shows good use, with Carter's number "8" in marker inside and a NRMT white paint pen signature on the visor. Size 7 ?.
