1974 Gaylord Perry American League All-Star Team Award
Gaylord Perry was the best pitcher the American League sent to the mound during the 1974 All-Star Game in Pittsburgh as he left the game in the fourth inning with a 2-1 lead. His fellow pitchers let it slip away, however, in the National League's 7-2 blowout victory. Still and all, Perry received this commemorative wall clock for participating in the Midsummer Classic. It features enamel logos of all the American League teams on the wood frame, while the center showcases a clock (not running) with American League logo below and a plaque that reads: "Presented to Gaylord Perry for his participation as a member of the American League team in the major league All-Star Game, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania July 23, 1974." The plaque features AL President Lee Mac Phail's facsimile signature and is in EX condition with some slight tarnishing.
