1974 Ramones Concert Poster

1974 Ramones Concert Poster

Epochal punk poster for a November 22, 1974 midnight show at The Truck & Warehouse Theater in the East Village by seminal punk band Television but more notable today for the words "Plus the Ramones" under the photo of Television. The Ramones were just about to take off, having played their first gig at CBGB's in August, but in the punk pecking order were still behind Television, which had a regular Saturday night gig at CBGB's. The photo by famous rock lensman Bob Gruen shows leader Richard Hell on the left in shades, Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd. 11 x 16 1/2" poster with Gruen's name typed in at right is VG with foxing of the edges, a rip on the top center, and a piece of the lower left corner torn away. But, hey, should a punk poster be perfect?
