1975 Eddie Giacomin Game Worn NY Rangers Jersey
The rare 50th anniversary crest celebrates the 50th year of the New York Rangers, but the rest of this battered jersey celebrates one hard-nosed Ranger, goalie Eddie Giacomin. The patch itself is oh-so-rare and valuable. Blood, sweat and all manner of stains pock Giacomin's classic tie-front, perhaps the last he wore as a Ranger. Just four games into the 1975-76 season, the Rangers put him on waivers and he was claimed by the Detroit Red Wings. Giacomin returned to Madison Square Garden in his first game and shut out the Rangers before a sellout crowd rooting for him. Giacomin put every fiber of his being into what this Rangers sweater represented, and he includes a letter of authenticity to ensure you get the real deal. "Cosby" and [size] "48" tagging on inside collar with additional faded flag tag. His No. 1 on the back became the second number retired by the franchise but he is first in the fans' hearts. He won 266 games, including a team record 49 shutouts.
