1976 Pete Rose Game Worn Reds Pants (ex-Barry Halper)
From the second of two consecutive World Series titles, these pants were game worn by Pete Rose in 1976. Rose was a key cog in the "Big Red Machine" teams of the 1970s in Cincinnati, leading the Reds to championships in '75 and '76 and winning an NL MVP Award in '73. These pants are from Sotheby's Barry Halper sale. Halper was a prolific collector of sports memorabilia and a minority owner of the New York Yankees. The pants are tagged "14, 32/34, 23, 76" and "Set 1" on the inside, and have a few small red stains, possibly blood, which would really be fitting given Rose's moniker, "Charlie Hustle."
