The Black Panther as a comic book hero predates the political party of the same name and appeared in various other comics before his own issue. In this January 1977 First Issue, the Black Panther needs to find the hidden King Solomon's Frog, a time machine. Marking the first time a mainstream comic featured a black hero, this First Issue is a great collectors' find. Even today, the Black Panther remains a hot topic as the Black Panther movie was released by Marvel Universe films in 2018 and was a smash, grossing more than any other film in the United States and Canada in that year.
