1977 Frank Zappa Concert Contracts with Zappa Handwritten Note
Fascinating documents are over 20 pages in length. For Frank Zappa’s October 6, 1977 performance at the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo it includes: the permits to perform there with cover letter and additional clause, five pink rental receipts including 50% talent guarantee for Zappa ($5,750), American Society of Composers licensee made out to “Frank Zappa,” letter requesting signing of contacts, “Festival Copy” of the contract, and ten-page rider with multiple handwritten notes (not by Zappa). Most importantly is the Glotzer Management cover letter, which draws “attention” to the rider in order to make the show a “complete success.” Zappa himself has drawn an arrow in black marker to this and commented, “Yes! Your attention…Because we want you to have a WONDERFUL concert with us…F. Zappa.” NRMT.
