1977 Muhammad Ali ABC Original Photograph (PSA Type I)
1977 promotional photo shows Muhammad Ali in the ring, along with cornermen, apparently before the start of a bout. This 7x9" black and white image was distributed by the ABC network, with affixed back caption reading, "World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali, after a brief 'retirement,' returns to the ring in defense of his title against Spain's Alfredo Evangelista as the feature of a live, exclusive prime time boxing triple-header," with the date of Monday, May 16. Back also has a Property of Field Enterprises Inc. stamp with a stamped date of May 1977. Ali captured a 15-round unanimous decision over Evangelista but he was clearly on the downhill side, winning just two of his remaining five bouts. Originates from the extensive Muhammad Ali collection of Troy Kinunen. Encapsulated as PSA Type I Authentic.
