On September 29, 1977 at New York's Madison Square Garden, Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali defended his title against tough challenger Earnie Shavers. Ali won a close, 15-round decision after having been wobbled in the 2nd and 14th rounds. The fight was a huge financial success as the Garden was sold out and NBC, which televised it live, had incredible ratings, a tribute to Ali's drawing power. Offered here is an original, on-site poster to this event, consisting of cardboard mounted on heavy board and picturing the fighters in bold color and clear images. There is staining and soiling along the bottom, along with some warping from water damage and edge and surface wear. It measures 23" x 29" and is a seldom-seen artifact.
