When you say the name "football" to most of the world, what comes to mind first is what is also termed soccer, and the consensus GOAT in the sport is the miraculous Pele. Presented is a rare full ticket to the last match of his illustrious career. Pele's league team was Santos, in Brazil. Usually playing as a striker, Pele has scored more league goals, 678, than anyone in soccer history. Playing for Brazil, his national team, Pele led his country to three World Cup Championships, in 1958, '62, and '70. In Brazil, it is customary for soccer stars to have "stage names", much as actors have. Pele was born Edson Arantes do Nascimento and assumed Pele as his soccer name. Watching Pele's remarkable ball skills was captivating. With the soccer ball, a player can dribble, pass, or shoot, and Pele's wonderful feints and moves always masked what he would do. He was utterly unpredictable. As for his stardom, the closest American equivalent would be that of Babe Ruth. Pele played for Santos from 1956-'74. He finished his career with the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. This final match was played at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, and Pele played the first half of the game with the Cosmos, and he played the second half of the match with Santos. scoring his final goal on a free kick. When addressing the crowd at the game, the world beloved Pele asked the crowd to repeat the word "love" three times after he said it. The crowd complied in a touching ceremony to mark his final game. This very scarce Brown Variation ticket has been encapsulated and graded PSA Full NM 7. This fitting remembrance of soccer's greatest star is PSA Pop 2, the highest graded.
