1978 Muhammad Ali vs. Leon Spinks UPI Photograph (PSA Type I)
Original Type I photograph capturing third-round action during the heavyweight championship fight between Muhammad Ali and Leon Spinks at the Las Vegas Hilton Pavilion on February 15, 1978. A "United Press International" credit stamp appears on the reverse. A copy of the original paper news caption, dated 2/15/78, is taped to the reverse. Leon Spinks, who had just seven professional bouts coming into the fight, stunned the boxing world by defeating Ali in a split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The photo (8.5x7.5") has been slightly trimmed to its current dimensions and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
