1978 Pele Signed Soccer Camp Certificate (PSA)

1978 Pele Signed Soccer Camp Certificate (PSA)

"The greatest player of all time," is what the great Franz Beckenbauer, the captain of Germany's 1974 World Cup Champions, said of Pele. "There's no other comparison to him." Thus, presented is a wonderful opportunity to possess a 1978 "The Pele Soccer Camps" certificate signed by Pele (the first one we have ever seen), the consensus soccer G.O.A.T. Sadly, Pele passed away on Dec. 29, 2022, just after the World Cup was completed. The great Brazilian star broke into professional football (soccer) as a 15-year-old with his club team, Santos, in Brazil. At 16, he was playing for the Brazilian National Team. Pele was a member of three World Cup winning teams, (Brazil in 1958, '62, and '70) the only player to have done so. Pele was usually a forward, playing as a striker or a withdrawn forward. Only 5'8", he was an all-around star with great ball skills, ones which he developed when, as a youth growing up in poverty, he used a sock stuffed with newspapers and tied with string, or a grapefruit, instead of an actual ball - which he could not usually afford. After Pele stopped playing for Santos, he played for the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer league and helped to popularize soccer in the United States. Pele was voted the Player of the Century by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. In his career, including friendlies, he scored 1,279 goals in 1,363 matches. Printed on the certificate is the following: "The Pele Soccer Camps Certifies Gregory Howes Has completed an intensive course of instruction in Soccer at Manhattanville College, N.Y. for the period July 30th, to August 5th, 1978." At the bottom of the certificate is a small image of Pele, and "O Rei" (The King) has signed the certificate near his photo. The signed 8.5x11" certificate comes with a PSA LOA. A Pele signed soccer certificate is a timeless remembrance to soccer's greatest player of all time.
