1978 Sam Davis Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey (Photo-Matched & Steelers COA)
1978 Pittsburgh Steelers jersey was game used by offensive lineman Sam Davis. White jersey has number 57 in black on front, shoulders, and back, name is on a plate above the rear number in yellow-on-black tackle twill. Exceptional use shown includes some paint transfers and an array of roughly 20 team repairs, most to the shoulders and arms. Sand Knit Exclusive for Pittsburgh Steelers and size 48 wash tag are on front tail, jersey has been photo-matched to the cover of the November 17, 1979, issue of Steelers Weekly. Though not one of the higher profile names of the Pittsburgh dynasty, White played an important role in winning four Super Bowls, protecting Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradsaw as he targeted Lynn Swan while the Steel Curtain defense did the rest.
