1979 Matt Bahr Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey (Steelers COA)
Matt Bahr was a noted placekicker who played 17 seasons, for six teams, in the NFL. Bahr was on NFL Champions twice. Offered is a 1979 Matt Bahr game used Pittsburgh Steelers jersey. In 1979, the Steelers went 12-4 in the regular season and went on to win Super Bowl XIV, against the Los Angeles Rams. The Pittsburgh team featured Hall of Famers such as Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, and Jack Lambert, among others. Bahr led the Steelers in scoring that season, with 104 points on 16 of 26 field goals, and 28 of 31 on extra point attempts. In his NFL career, Bahr scored 1,422 points on 300 of 415 field goal attempts, and 522 of 534 extra point tries. Bahr also played professional soccer in the North American Soccer League, and he is the brother of former NFL kicker Chris Bahr and the son of National Soccer Hall of Famer Walter Bahr. The jersey has "BAHR" written in gold lettering with black trim at the top back. A black numeral "9" is underneath the name. Each sleeve has a black numeral "9." The back of the jersey shows a black numeral "9." The lower left outside tail has a "Pittsburgh Steelers Medalist Sand-Knit" tag. Another "Medalist Sand-Knit" tag shows the size as "44". Next to the aforementioned tag is a year tag reading "79." Affixed to the neck is a Certificate of Authenticity from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The jersey is in excellent condition and shows light wear, mainly in a number of loose threads. The jersey provides a valued remembrance from a noted NFL kicker, from a famous sports family, and from the leading 1979 scorer from one of the iconic football dynasties, the 4-time Super Bowl champions in the 1970s, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
