1979 Rickey Henderson Rookie Oakland Athletics Signed Game Worn Jersey (PSA)
Spectacular 1979 Oakland A's jersey game worn during the rookie year of stolen base king Rickey Henderson. Highly desirable yellow pullover style has 1979 year, wash instructions, and size 42 and McAuliffe tagging on front tail. A's logo is on left chest in green-on-white tackle twill, number 35 is on back in same style below name in green letters individually stitched to the jersey. Henderson signed below the front logo in 1981 in 6/10 black marker. Shows tremendous overall use, especially on front and the logo, likely from Rickey's patented head-first slide. Henderson stole "only" 33 bases in 89 games during his 1979 rookie season, a far cry from the 100 he amassed the following year, the 130 bags he swiped in 1982, and the 108 recorded in '83 - all part of a likely-unbreakable career record total of 1,406 in his Hall of Fame career.
