1980's Art Schlichter Game Worn Colts Jersey
This jersey was obtained from Schlichter himself, not long before going to prison on charges that grew out of an old, unsolved problem -- supporting a compulsive gambling habit. That addiction, of course, cut short Schlichter's promising pro football career almost before it ever started and led to years of legal troubles. A first-round pick out of Ohio State by the then-Baltimore Colts in 1981, he was suspended in 1983 for accruing $150,000 in gambling debts, never to make it back. The snow white home Colts mesh jersey has blue-and-gray tackle twill numbers and lettering, with the number "10" screened on the back, front and both arms and "Schlicter" across the upper back. Good use and a small red discoloration on the neck back. All tagging has been removed. All in all, the jersey is a testament to what might have been.
