1980-81 Salt Lake Golden Eagles Central Hockey League Championship Player Ring (Heinz LOA)
Displayed is an attractive 1980-81 Salt Lake Golden Eagles Central Hockey League Championship ring that was awarded to Rick Heinz, a goalie on that season's Golden Eagles. An affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, the Eagles won the Central Hockey League Championship in 1980-81 by defeating the Wichita Wind 4-3 in games. Heinz played in 49 games for the Golden Eagles that season, and had a record of 14-19-5, with a GAA of 4.06 and a save percentage of .857. In four games that year for the NHL's St. Louis Blues, Heinz played particularly well, with a 2-1-1 record and a 2.18 GAA, and he even picked up an assist. Heinz played in the NHL at various times from 1980 to 1985, playing in 49 games, mostly with the St. Louis Blues, with a 14-19-3 record, a .853 save percentage and a 4.05 GAA. The ring comes directly from Heinz. Around the face of the ring is imprinted "Salt Lake 1980-81 Golden Eagles." The ring face also has a Golden Eagle raised ornament. Imprinted on the left prong is "Champions CHL 75/80 Adams Cup." On the right prong is imprinted "Heinz" and an image of the Golden Eagle mascot. The three diamonds on the face are real. The size of the ring is 12.5, is 26 grams and it is in excellent condition. A Letter of Authenticity from the consigner comes with the ring.
