1980-82 Billy Ray Bates Game Worn Trail Blazers Jersey & Shorts

1980-82 Billy Ray Bates Game Worn Trail Blazers Jersey & Shorts

A footnote to a career that falls into the "what might have been" category, Billy Ray Bates still holds the NBA record by a non-starter with 26.7 points per game in his only two post-seasons. Unfortunately, he would quickly flame out, eventually spending time in prison for armed robbery. This nice Portland Trail Blazers road red set, jersey and shorts, was game worn by the talented guard in the 1980-82 period. The jersey has Rawlings size 42 tagging with 1" extra length, his number 12 on front and back with "blazers" (lower case) on front and "BATES" sewn onto the back of the top. The shorts have Rawlings size 34 tag, with the number 12 handwritten in black marker and the Blazers' logo patch on the right thigh. Both pieces show moderate use and are in superb condition, and the set comes with LOA.
