1980 Olympics Original Art - Bill Russell

1980 Olympics Original Art - Bill Russell

After the 1980 Olympics, a campaign was mounted to raise money for the USA team in the 1984 Olympics. A few select athletes were chosen to commit to canvas something singular to them using their instruments of greatness. Bill Russell dribbled a basketball in paint and on to the canvas, in addition to walking in paint and onto the canvas in his basketball sneakers. The result was an entirely unique piece of art. From that piece of art, a series of posters was created for people to purchase, with all money going towards the financing of the US Olympians of 1984. This is the original artwork! Beautifully suited for hanging in a gallery. Now over 25 years old and with limitless upside future potential in worth. The art is bigger then the man, measures in at 128-1/4 x 52-1/2". Framed, 130-1/4 x 54-1/2". A special item on many levels. One of a kind sports art the should be in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Includes scanned copy of ad appearing in Sports Illustrated for the posters.
