1980 Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Trophy
It was an end to one of the most dominant teams in NFL history - the Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970’s, winning four national championships within six straight seasons, the last one represented with this heavy, replica silver-plated monster of a Vince Lombardi Trophy. Measuring 18” high, its pyramidal stem is interrupted by a 9” silver football angled at its very top. On the front one of its three concave, tapered sides reads the engraving, “Vince Lombardi Trophy - Super Bowl XIV - AFC vs NFC.” Upon its pitch-black plinth of a base is the engraved plate, “Pittsburgh Steelers - World Champions - Rose Bowl - Pasadena California - Pittsburgh 31 Los Angeles 19 - January 20, 1980.” Base’s sides measure 8 ?”, while the triangular bottom’s front to back point measures 7 ?”.
