1980 Roberto Duran vs. Sugar Ray Leonard Signed On-Site Fight Poster
Gorgeous poster touting "The Brawl in Montreal" (June 20, 1980), the first (and best) of the three Leonard/Duran meetings. According to Leonard's trainer, Angelo Dundee, before this fight the challenger, Duran, insulted Leonard and told Leonard's wife that he would "kill him." As a result, an enraged Leonard abandoned his usual dancing style and sought to fight Duran toe-to-toe. The Hands of Stone prevailed and Roberto was the new WBC Welterweight Championship. Poster is mounted on cardboard, otherwise NM. Rare poster, French version, with great color photos of both fighters. Large autographs with Tri-Star Certifications. <p>Size: E.S.</p>
