1980s-90s Oakland Athletics Game Worn Jerseys (3)
1) 1985 Stanley Javier Oakland Athletics home jersey (#28) . Javier did not play the 1985 season in majors, but was with Oakland's AA affiliate at Huntsville. This jersey could have been game used during the Oakland spring training games. Javier is the son of star second baseman Julian Javier, who played on the St.Louis Cardinals with Stan Musial. The senior Javier named his son Stanley in honor of "Stan the Man". Later, Stan Javier, an outfielder, played the 1986-1990 and '94 seasons with Oakland. Jersey has green and gold trim and has "Javier 28" on back. Tagged "Rawlings [size] 42 Set 1, 1985". Small quarter inch green mark on back, otherwise excellent condition. 2) 1992 Todd Van Poppel Oakland Athletics away jersey (#59). Van Poppel, a right-handed pitcher, did not play in the majors for the Oakland Athletics in any 1992 regular season games. In 1992, he was pitching Oakland's AAA affiliate at Tacoma. This jersey could have been from his use during Major League spring training games that '92 season. Gray with green and gold trim. "Van Poppel 59" on verso. Right sleeve has patch stating "Athletics 25 - Oakland Athletics Twentyfifth Anniversary". Tags read "Russell Athletic" and "Diamond Collection - Authentic Major League Baseball [size] 48+2" ". Excellent condition. 1972-1975 or 1977-1986 Oakland Athletics away green jersey (#31). Unknown if worn by a player. White, green , and gold trim. No name on back. Neck tag reads "APHA [size] 42. Excellent condition.
